A 1941 Black Belt by Poeschl Rohrbach

Fabricated from a very thick leather with a smooth finished black upper and a smooth finished mid-tone brown underside, smooth finished mid-tone brown leather tab stitched in place on the underside at the right end, the tab with seven rows of two holes each for length adjustment, emboss stamped "90" and marked in black ink "17" on the underside of the belt behind the tab, the belt folded over and finishing on the reverse at the left end, housing a field gray painted magnetic metal receiving clip which is maker marked "O & C" (Overhoff & Cie., Lüdenscheid), the belt emboss stamped with the "POESCHL ROHRBACH" maker mark and dated "1941", the belt measuring 44 mm x 960 mm. Very light wear evident, Extremely fine.

Footnote: From the collection of approximately 900 German buckles accumulated by John R. Angolia, who start collecting buckles, belts and brocades from 1944 until around 1990; most of the buckles were obtained from the American and German veterans; most of these buckles present a core of Angolia’s book “Belt Buckles & Brocades of the Third Reich”, published in 2001.
