Seven First War German Imperial Airplane Postcards

The first postcard illustrates a captured French Codron aircraft, inscribed "Erbeutete Flugzeuge ; mit dem Eisernen Kreuz als Erkennungsmarke deutscher Flugzeuge verschen, für Flüge in Deutschland zwecks Erprobung der feindlichen Flugzeugarten / Französischer Codron-Doppledecker." below and "278 / Postkartenvertrieb W. Sanke BERLIN N.37. / Nachdruck wird gerichtlich verfolgt." at the lower right, 86 mm x 135. The second postcard illustrates a captured English Avro aircraft, inscribed "Erbeutete Flugzeuge; mit dem Eisernen Kreuz als Erkennungsmarke deutscher Flugzeuge verschen, für Flüge in Deutschland zwecks Erprobung der feindlichen Flugzeugarten / Englischer Avro-Doppledecker." below and "282 / Postkartenvertrieb W. Sanke BERLIN N.37. / Nachdruck wird gerichtlich verfolgt." at the lower right, 88 mm x 137 mm. The third postcard illustrates three men in the water supporting a seaplane, inscribed "Rumpler-Marine-Doppeldecker" at the upper left, 88 mm x 138 mm. The fourth postcard illustrates a seaplane in a harbour with six ships in the background, stamped "JOE. JENSEN Photograph M Erwik" on the reverse, 88 mm x 138 mm. The remaining three postcards illustrate various aerial battle scenes over land, one is artist marked "HANS RUDOLF SCHULTE", 90 mm x 140 mm each. Three are black and white, one is sepia-toned, the latter three are colourized, on card stock, each with postcard backers, three with handwritten messages and postmarked, four are unaddressed, ranging from better than very fine to extremely fine.
