A Second War German Red Cross Award Stein

Ceramic with red, white and black paint, glazed, flip-top pewter alloy lid with thumb lever, front illustrating the German Red Cross eagle insignia, inscribed "Rudolf Grieser / Sanitäts-Halbzugführer" (Sanitary Half-Platoon), thin red line trim along the circumference at the bottom edge, stamped "1/2 L" (litre) to the left of the handle and just below the rim, number stamped "1526", "24", "96" with a maker mark on the bottom, 97 mm in diameter x 165 mm inclusive of its lid, without chipping and crazing, better than extremely fine.
