Officials of the High Grade Career, Groups 1 and 2, buckle in silvered stamped brass (silver on obverse mostly worn off), 48 mm diameter, reverse unmarked. Attached as worn to 45mm wide aluminum/silver woven brocade, with two black stripes, two sliding, vertical 22 mm keepers of the same pattern, and with black wool backing. Brocade is complete with leather adjustment tongue and catch. Length approx. 105 mm. In excellent condition.
Footnote: From the collection of approximately 900 German buckles accumulated by John R. Angolia, who start collecting buckles, belts and brocades from 1944 until around 1990; most of the buckles were obtained from the American and German veterans; most of these buckles present a core of Angolia’s book “Belt Buckles & Brocades of the Third Reich”, published in 2001.
