measuring 240 mm, with the scabbard on, this dagger features a 157 mm nickel-plated steel blade, with unsharpened edges, remaining bright and crisp, having a very sharp tip. The blade's ricasso is maker marked with the E. & F. HORSTER SOLINGEN company insignia. It retains its crossgraining, light wear and exhibits chipping on one edge on both sides near the crossguard, in addition to faint scratches overall, common to extraction and return to the scabbard, natural shine, in better than very fine condition. The fittings are nickel plated. The crossguard is slightly loose versus the blade and handle and exhibits contact marks but maintains its crisp detail and high relief, complemented by the circular Swastika insignia in the centre on both sides. The synthetic blue/black Moroccan grip is accented by a tight, silvered springy wire in the recessed areas, free of wear. The pommel features a circular bronze Swasitka on both sides, with light contact and wear, in very fine condition. The scabbard appears without dents but does have contact marks in the nickel fittings, highlighted by a pebbled blue/black Moroccan body, with a ball finial on the chape, complemented by two dagger hanger rings and attached chain, in near very fine condition. A fine example of this type of dagger in near extremely fine condition.
