Germany, Waffen-SS. A EM/NCO Belt Buckle, by Overhoff and Cie
Buckle die stamped in steel (magnetic), with field gray paint finish; this wartime Waffen-SS enlisted man's/NCO's belt buckle is maker marked "RZM 36/42 SS"; the code on this buckle represents the the "Overhoff and Cie" company and the year of production, which was 1942. Maker marked steel pieces by Overhoff and Cie are very rare; this type of buckle was introduced in 1940 and is generally associated with the Waffen-SS. The detail to the eagle and wreath and lettering is crisp. A nice looking original example with a rare maker's mark, with moderate wear that no doubt saw some action and has a nice old patina.
