Naming is officially impressed. Un-mounted, original ribbons, edge nicks and wear on the edge of the CAFLSM, light contact, better than very fine.

Footnote: Sylvester McLean was born on July 10, 1888 in Woodstock, Ontario. He was a resident of Woodstock when he signed his Attestation Paper as a Private (127719) with the 71st Infantry Battalion, on March 18, 1916, in Woodstock, at the age of 27, naming his next-of-kin as his mother, Mrs. Daniel McLean of Woodstock, stating that he had been with an Active Militia for nine years, the 22nd Regiment (Oxford Rifles), that he was not married and that his trade was that of Salesman. It was noted during his medical examination that he had a mole on the point of his right cheekbone. The Battalion was raised and mobilized in Woodstock, Ontario under the authority of G.O. 103A, August 15, 1915. The Battalion sailed April 21, 1916 with a strength of 35 officers and 963 other ranks under the command of Lieutenant-Colonel D.M. Sutherland. The Battalion was absorbed into the 44th, 51st, 54th and 74th Battalions, withMcLean later transferred to the 2nd Canadian Mounted Rifles. He survived the war.
