A Prussian Golden Military Merit Cross - so called "Pour-le-Mérite" for enlisted, in silver gilt, bottom arm marked "W 938" (for Wagner, Berlin), officially awarded cross, excellent gilding (nearly 100% present), in extremely fine condition; in its fitted dark green case of issue (case also extremely fine condition). This was highest Prussian bravery award for enlisted soldiers and only about 1350 crosses awarded during 1914-18 period, out of approximately Six million German soldiers. An excellent example.
