Mounted as originally worn German style, comprising: Prussia, Iron Cross 1914 2nd Class (silvered frame and iron core, magnetic, 43 mm); Prussia, Golden Military Merit Cross (so called "Pour-le-Mérite" for enlisted), in silver gilt, bottom arm marked "W 938" (for Wagner, Berlin), officially awarded cross, excellent gilding (over 95% present), in extremely fine condition; Bavaria, Military Merit Cross, 2nd Class with Swords (silvered tombac and enamels, 42.5 mm x 47.5 mm); Germany, Hindenburg Cross for Combatants, bronze gilt on metal, magnetic; ribbons slightly soiled, slightly worn condition. A very nice medal bar, and hard to find with Golden Military Merit Cross! Footnote: Golden Military Merit Cross was highest Prussian bravery award for enlisted soldiers and only about 1350 crosses in total were awarded during 1914-18 period, out of approximately Six million German soldiers.
