Measuring 60mm (x95mm including crown suspension), with old sash ribbon as awarded by the French Government. Silver, hallmarked AXG 950 (Adrien Chobillon). The order was created in 1864 by King Norodom I for merit with five classes awarded to civilians and soldiers. In 1896 it also became an order awarded by the French and the recipient had to have entered as a knight. Only officers of the Legion dHonneur could become a commander in this order and only commanders of the Legion dHonneur could be Commanders or Officers of this order. French awards ceased after 1948; missing some of the blue enamel, excellent quality, in very fine condition.
