A typical War time construction buckle in die forged steel (magnetic), with silver/grey paint finish,65mm x 48mm, plain, with embossed central section featuring SS pattern eagle and swastika, surrounded by SS motto "Meine Ehre heißt Treue!", (My Honor is Loyalty!); buckle is marked "RZM 36/42 SS" ("36" signifies the maker code, Overhoff and Cie of Lüdenscheid), while "42" is the year of production - 1942. Overhoff and Cie of Ludenscheid was a premier maker of SS buckles from around 1927. This War time production buckle, associated with Waffen-SS units, exhibits moderate wear and use, with most of the paint present, in overall very fine condition.
