A German First World War Enlisted Man's Infantry Field Cap

Fabricated from grayish-green wool, with a 27 mm wide red wool band around the circumference sewn in place near the opening, red piping along the top edge around the circumference, a magnetic metal National cockade in black with red and white paint on the peak, missing its German states designating cockade on the red band at the front but the square black wool support patch remains intact, canvas liner with a faded mark, 190 mm x 210 mm x 80 mm in height, paint chipping evident on the National cockade, soiling present on the canvas lining from active wear. Very fine.
