Denmark, Kingdom. A Rare Second War Danish Distinguished Flying Medal

Silver, obverse with the cypher of Frederick IX surrounded by the inscription "FOR UDMAERKET LUFTTJENESTE" (Medal for Distinguished Flying Service), reverse inscribed "FORTJENT" (Deserved) inside an open-ended wreath, 30.2 mm, contact marks, edge nicks, near very fine. Footnote: The medal was instituted on May 30, 1962 and awarded to pilots or aircrew for meritorious services or acts in the air.
