A War Merit 1st Class Case in Box of Issue by Steinhauer & Lück, Lüdenscheid

Hardshelled, pebbled exterior, slotted medal bed, push release, 67 mm x 68 mm, tape peeling away over the hinged area and lightly scuffed on the exterior, case better than very fine. In its cardboard box of issue, marked in black ink "KRIEGS-VERDIENSTKREUZ 1. KLASSE" on the front panel and maker marked "Steinhauer & Lück Lüdenscheid" on the side panel, side flap has separated from the body of the box but remains with it, lightly soiled, box fine.
