Silvered bronze, obverse illustrating the coat-of-arms of the German Empire used between 1889 and 1918, inscribed "DEUTSCHES REICH" above and "1871" below, the two inscriptions separated by branches of oak leaves and acorns on either side, reverse illustrating the crowned coat-of-arms of the state of Württemberg, framed by branches of oak leaves and acorns on either side, inscribed "KOENIGREICH WUERTTEMBERG" (Kingdom of Württemberg) above, with the dates "1870" and "1895" at either end, the latter date being the founding of the Second German Empire, a scroll inscribed "WÜRTT. KRIEGERBUND" (Württemberg War Veterans) below, 68.5 mm x 99.2 mm inclusive of its bar suspension, scattered silvering wear, bruised, edge nicks, residue evident in the recessed areas from cleaning, very fine.
