Hardshelled, smooth finished cloth covering wrapped around a wooden frame, front cover with the gilt Imperial double-headed eagle coat-of-arms (the version used after 1883) and silvered type in Russian inscribed "СВ. СТАНИСЛАВА 2 СТЕПЕНИ СО ЗВЕЗДОЮ", inside lid with a lightly soiled satin lining, raised platform with lightly soiled dual recessed medal beds to accommodate the cross and star, dual latch closure, scuffing, wear and discolouration evident on the exterior, very fine.
