A Fitzgerald Scottish Clan Badge in Sterling

Two-piece construction, sterling silver, hand-engraved, illustrating a left-facing monkey in the centre with a ribbon banner above inscribed with the Fitzgerald family motto "CROM ABU", the outer frame in the form on a garter and inscribed in Latin capitals "NON IMMEMOR BENEFICII" (Not Forgotten Benefits), reverse engraved with the clan name "FITZGERALD", the date "1952", marked "STERLING" beside a stylized "N" that is penetrated by a upward pointing sword insignia, 66.5 mm x 78.7 mm, both lugs intact, extremely fine.
