An American Bronze Star with Case to Major Sam G. Vercoe

Bronze, engraved "SAM G. VERCOE" on the reverse, 35.5 mm x 36 mm, original ribbon with brooch pinback, spotting, extremely fine. Accompanied by its 10 mm x 35.5 mm Ribbon Bar and its 4 mm x 17.7 mm enamelled Ribbon Bar with button hole attachment, in its hardshelled case of issue, marked "BRONZE STAR MEDAL", along with a label affixed below inscribed "Major SAM. G. VERCOE 00257602" on the lid, lightly soiled medal bed, die cut out on the bottom exposing the cardboard liner, case very fine.
