Silver, 30.8 mm, scratches evident on the reverse, contact and surface wear overall, near very fine. Accompanied by a postcard of Adalbert Matkowsky (black and white, matte finish, obverse illustrating Matkowsky wearing the Medal of Iftihar along with two other medals on his left breast, along with the Order of Medjidie (Mecidiye) around his neck, inscribed "Adalbert Matkowsky" at the upper left, coded "1078" and marked with the publisher's name "VERLAG VON GUSTAV MANDEL" at the lower left, reverse with address backer, 86 mm x 134 mm). Footnote: The Medal of Iftihar (AKA Medal of Sanayi) was mostly awarded for loyalty, valour, heroism and accomplishments in various fields such as agriculture, arts and crafts. These medals were also used as war medals by attaching metal inscriptions to their ribbons. Adalbert Matkowsky (1857–1909) was a German actor and a leading player at the Berlin Royal Theatre from 1889 until his death in 1909.
