White porcelain, manufactured by Koenigliche Porzellanmanufaktur (KPM) of Berlin, maker marked on the shoulder inside, the bell being an official replica of the huge bronze bell in the Berlin Bell Tower, the waist of the bellillustrating the Berlin XI Summer Olympic Games, incorporating a stylized eagle with his talons clutching the spread conjoined Olympic rings below on one side, the Brandenburg Gate on the other side, inscribed with the dates of the games "1.-16.August" and "1936" in between the two insignias, inscribed on the sound ring with the motto "Ich rufe die Jugend der welt" (I call the youth of the world) and "11.Olympische Spiele Berlin" (11th Olympic Games Berlin), the inscriptions separated by swastikas on either side, the clapper also in white porcelain and suspended from the loop in the dome via a figure eight-shaped wire, measuring 100 mm at the base x 121 mm in height inclusive of its crown, seated upon its original 120 mm diameter x 34 mm in height black painted wooden base, the bell free of chipping and crazing, extremely fine. Accompanied by a Postcard of the Bell from the Berlin Bell Tower (black and white, gloss finish, obverse inscribed "Olympia-Glocke für die Olympischen Spiele in Berlin 1936" (Olympic Bell of the Olympic Games in Berlin 1936) at the bottom, reverse with address backer, addressed in black ink to a person in the United States, a 15 Reichsmark stamp and cancelled, 102 mm x 147 mm, creased at the upper right).
