W.H. Bishop: Colonial Auxiliary Forces Officers' Decoration, Victoria (Quartermaster & Hon. Major, W.H. BISHOP 69th. REGIMENT). Naming is officially engraved, maker marked "SG" (Sebastian Garrard), hallmarked with the British lion, a leopard's head (made in London) and date marked "f" (1901) on the reverse, hallmarked with the British lion and a leopard's head (made in London) on the suspension. Original ribbon with pinback, light contact, near extremely fine. In its hardshelled case of issue, maker marked "R & S. GARRARD & Co" on the inside lid, recessed medal bed, scuffed exterior, case fine. F.W. Bishop: Colonial Auxiliary Forces Long Service Medal, Victoria (Q.M. & HON. CAPTAIN F.W. BISHOP, 69th. REGIMENT). Naming is officially impressed. Dark patina, light contact, better than very fine. Footnote: The Colonial Auxiliary Forces Officers' Decoration was awarded to William H. Bishop in 1903. He was also the recipient of a number of Nova Scotia Rifle Association shooting awards. (C:4)
