A Luftwaffe Fighter Squadron Emblem from Ground Base Gate

Measuring 19.5 cm diameter, in solid cast bronze, showing usual and pleasing tarnishing from oxidization, very large and heavy, with three bronze post for attachment on reverse, very fine. Footnote: This would have been placed on the iron gate of a Jagdgeschwader “hunting wing” base. These were typically equipped with the Messerschmitt 109 or Fw 190 to provide close air support to Wehrmacht ground troops.
