In die-stamped zinc, measuring 157 mm diameter, illustrating a left-facing bust of an Army (Heer) soldier with a left-facing head of a Wehrmacht horse on a painted black solid wooden base; attempted removal of swastika decal on helmet, measuring 228mm x 278mm; Riveted plate reads “Für Gute Leistungen Auf Dem Sieger-Land Turnier 1939” (For Good Performance on the Victory Tournament); high relief, raised zinc plate is screwed to the wood base with a wall hanger on the reverse, overall contact marks, fine condition. Footnote: Horses and skilled riders played an important role in the onset of the Second War. On September 2nd, 1939, at the begin of the Polish Campaign, 573.000 horses served actively in the German Wehrmacht infantry.
