An Order of the Oak Crown of Luxembourg; Grand Cross Set by Arthus Bertand, Paris

c.1858: Grand Cross: silver gilt with green and white enamels, 57 mm, on a full-length sash; and Breast Star: multi-piece construction, silver gilt with maroon and green enamels, maker marked "ARTHUS BERTRAND PARIS" on the reverse, 89.5 mm x 90.5 mm, vertical pinback flanked by dual prongs. Intact enamels, extremely fine. In its hardshelled case of issue, white cotton lining on the inside lid, raised platform with recessed medal bed for the star, label inscribed in Italian affixed to the bottom identifying the order, scuffed exterior, case very fine.
