Silver gilt with blue enamels, 50.5 mm x 52.8 mm, suspended from a pinback hanger inscribed "REPUBLICA DEL ECUADOR" with four icons, backed by its original tr-colour ribbon, intact enamels, scattered gilt wear evident on the order and hanger, near extremely fine. In its hardshelled case of issue, yellow velvetine exterior and medal bed, black mark on the bottom, case also near extremely fine. Footnote: The Order of Abdón Calderón is an Ecuadorian decoration instituted in 1904 and awarded for extraordinary military service. It is named after the revolutionary hero who died from injuries sustained on May 24, 1822 during the Battle of Pichincha.
