A 1939 Reich Protectorate Over Bohemia & Moravia Commemorative Medal with Box

Silver, maker marked "BAYER HAUPTMÜNZAMT" and marked "SILBER 900" (silver) on the edge, obverse illustrating a spread-winged eagle standing upon a block bearing a swastika, a shield under the eagle's left wing bearing the Moravian coat-of-arms, the Bohemian lion crouching beside the block, surrounded by the inscription "REICHS-PROTEKTORAT VBER BÖHMEN VUND MÄHREN", reverse illustrating a German Army helmet and shovel, backed by a map of the Bohemia and Moravia regions, with various places marked on the map, the date "15. MÄRZ 1939" (March 15, 1939) at the upper right, inscribed "DAS REICH VNTER ADOLF HITLER" above and engraver marked "K GOETZ" (Karl Goetz) below the map, 36 mm, very light contact, extremely fine. In its cardboard box of issue, marked "Silber" (silver) on the bottom, recessed medal bed, box also extremely fine.
