A 1938 Lantern and Volksfest Badge Sponsored by the German Labour Front by E. O. Friedrich

A Lanternen und Volksfest badge for the district of Halle von der Salle at the Danube (5-6.08.1938); In pressed leather, horizontal pin on back; maker markings “ E.O Friedrich - Leipzig” and copyright markings “Esoplast D.R.P Nr. 659373”; 46 mm x 34 mm; overall very fine condition. Footnote: This lantern festival was organized by the Robert Ley and the German Labour Front (motto “Kraft durch Freude” - “strength through joy”). Constructed out of Efoplast, a type of tough, fibrous shaped plastic wafer. The only manufacturer of this type of material was EO Friedrich. The acronym DRP stands for Deutsches Reichs Patent - patent protection by the State for up to 15 years.
