A Japanese Order of the Rising Sun Medal Bar

A Pre-Second War Japanese Medal Bar of Six Awards, on Japanese-style chromed alloy medal bar, consisting of 1) A Japanese Order of the Rising Sun; 5th Class; in silver with white enamels; the obverse with a centered red glass cabochon; measuring 67 mm x 46 mm (inclusive of its Paulownia flower suspension, but without its vertically-pierced ball for ribbon suspension); original ribbon with hook and eye; cracking of the enamel at the twelve o’clock “sun ray”; light contact marks. 2) A 1931-1934 Japanese Manchurian Incident Incident Medal; in bronze; the reverse inscribed “Showa Incident - 6th 1931 to 9th 1943”; measuring 30 mm in diameter; original ribbon with hook and eye. Pleasant patina; light contact marks. 3) A 1937 Japanese China Incident Medal; in bronze; reverse inscribed “China Incident”; measuring 30 mm in diameter; original ribbon with hook and eye; some spotting on the clasp. 4) An Emperor Showa Enthronement Medal; in silver; with gold plated chrysanthemum in the centre of obverse and inscribed “banzai” (meaning 10,000 years)’ the obverse is inscribed “tai-rei” (meaning enthronement) as well as “ki-nen-sho” in the column (meaning commemorative medal), with additional writing along the bottom, “sho-wa-san-nen-ju-ichi-gatsu” (meaning November, Showa 3 - the Japanese measured time by their emperors - Showa 3 was 1928); measuring 30 mm in diameter; original ribbon with hook and eye; patina and light contact marks. 5) A 1940 Japanese 2600th National Anniversary Medal; in bronze gilt; reverse inscribed “Imperial Year 2600, Imperial Celebration Commemorative Medal, Showa 15 (1940)”; measuring 30 mm in diameter; original ribbon with hook and eye; light contact marks. 6) A Japanese Red Cross Commemorative Medal; in sterling silver; reverse inscribed “Meiji 21” (1888) - note that this date is used for all Japanese Red Cross medals regardless of issue; measuring 29 mm in diameter; original ribbon with hook and eye; patina and light contact marks.
