Silver and gold-coloured bullion wire, in various textures, in the crown, eagle and trims on the centre and ribbon banner, maroon felt in the void of the crown with touches of red and green embroidery in the crown's base, light blue nylon in the circle behind the eagle, inscribed "PAR ARDUA AD ASTRA" in silver wire on the dark blue background of the ring surrounding the light blue centre, inscribed "ROYAL CANADIAN AIR FORCE" in silver wire on the dark blue background of the ribbon banner, with red embroidery where the reverse of the ribbon banner is exposed in four locations, on navy blue wool, white cotton mesh backer, 74 mm x 88 mm, free of interruption in the wire and stitching, extremely fine.
