An SS Eight Years’ Faithful Service Award with Box by Deschler

In die-struck bronze; unmarked but these medals were produced exclusively by Deschler of Munich and Petz & Lorenz of Unterreichenbach; measuring 38 mm in diameter; exquisite manufacturing quality with very fine details; the obverse in German “Für Treue Dienste In Der SS” (For Faithful Service in the SS”; the reverse with a crisp swastika with an oak leaves wreath with the Waffen-SS insignia in the center; with correct replacement ribbon; faint contact marks but overall near mint; with lined case of issue; case shows significant signs of age with one side of case missing and two coming loose. Footnote: The SS long service awards were first introduced by Adolf Hitler on January 30, 1938, and according to predominant historian Christopher Alisby, the awards ceased to be awarded at the end of 1941.
