A Foreign Legion Colonel’s Kepi

A traditional (1940’s-1980’s) French Foreign Legion Kepi; band constructed of black wool with gold bullion wire seven-flame grenade and gold bullion chin strap on front half attached on sides by golden buttons; five gold bullion loops on top section of band; crown crafted out of black wool with triple gold bullion austrian knot braid in the centre; visor made out of black Vulcanfibre with black leather sweatband and red velvet lining on the inside and plastic sweat “diamond”; maker markings “Cindré Mathe” and “J.G.”; 19 cm inside diameter, 10.5 cm tall; very fine condition.
