A Foreign Legion Sous Lieutenant Kepi

A traditional (1940’s-1980’s) French Foreign Legion Kepi; band constructed of black wool with silver bullion wire seven-flame grenade and silver bullion chin strap on front half attached on sides by non-period silvered buttons; single silver bullion loops on top section of band; crown crafted out of red wool with single silver bullion austrian knot braid in the centre with single silver bullion loop around outer edge of crown; visor made out of black Vulcanfibre with black leather sweatband and black velvet lining; maker markings present but illegible; 19 cm inside diameter, 10.8 cm tall; sweat band soiled and dirty, showing some wear with light mothing on crown; overall fine condition.
