Royal Montreal Regiment: Sterling silver with white and blue enamels, marked with an anchor (made in Birmingham), the British lion, date marked "q" (1915) and maker marked "W.J.D" on the reverse, 21.5 mm x 34 mm, horizontal pinback, chipping evident in the white enamels, crazing present in the blue enamels, very fine.

Footnote: The 14th Infantry Battalion was raised from the Royal Montreal Regiment and mobilized at Camp Valcartier, Quebec under the authority of P.C.O. 2067, August 6, 1914. The Battalion sailed with a strength of 46 officers and 1,097 other ranks under the command of Lieutenant-Colonel F.J. Meighen on October 3, 1914. The Battalion served in France and Belgium with the 3rd Infantry Brigade, 1st Canadian Division. The Battalion was disbanded on September 15, 1920.
