A rare first war Australian Quillion bayonet for a SMLE Lee-Enfield Rifle; a rare surviving example of the type with an intact and original quillion; measuring 578 mm with the scabbard on; 1907 marked and marked “Q^P” for Queensland Police; blade is crafted out of steel (magnetic); measuring 430 mm; once possessed a black finish that is mostly worn off; with some pitting and usual in-out runner marks; semi-sharp edge with sharp point; intact wooden grip secured to blade via two original screws; intact and functional rifle attachment mechanism; scabbard crafted out of thick hard black leather with steel (magnetic) hardware; contact marks from use but wonderfully preserved; extremely fine condition.
