(French Indochina, South Vietnam): Bronze gilt, illustrating a stylized Chinese junk with two Chinese characters translated as loyalty inscribed on the ship's hull, inscribed in French "TERRITOIRE AUTONOME NUNG" above and "VIET-NAM" below, the inscriptions separated by a five-pointed star on either side, 34.5 mm, original ribbon, bruised, light contact, very fine.

Footnote: French Colonial forces awarded this decoration in two classes (Officer and Knight) for meritorious service, to military and civilian personnel of the Nung (Montagnard) tribe. A rosette on the ribbon drape distinguishes the first or Officer class, but none are known to exist.
