An HJ Overseas Summer Side Cap; RZM Tagged

This side cap is fabricated from light brown cotton, with two rising peaks forming a valley between the two, side panels that are sewn in place and trimmed in red piping, machine embroidered Hitler Youth insignia in red, white and black embroidery sewn in place on the front, with an eagle sitting upon a wreathed swastika above in white and black embroidery above. The interior is lined in brown cotton with a brown leather sweatband, size stamped in black ink "56" in the dome, name inscribed in handwritten black ink "Raff" on the right side near the front, plus a manufacturer's label printed in brown ink and placed at the left front, the label marked with the Hitler Youth insignia and the RZM (Reichszeugmeisterei) insignia, marked "Hersteller:" (Manufacturer), number stamped "A2/219", marked "Reichszeugmeisterei der NSDAP." and numbered "No 34657". The cap measures 100 mm x 270 mm, exhibiting cracking in the sweatband and light soiling overall. Very fine.
