A German Local Police (Gemeindepolizei) Side Cap

This side cap is fabricated from a brushed steel blue cotton, with a fold down panel that extends around the full length of the cap and a quality embroidered Police insignia sewn in place on the peak of the cap at the front, the insignia in a wine-colour on a bluish-green cotton patch, incorporating an eagle standing upon a wreathed swastika backed by a full wreath of oak leaves and acorns. The interior is lined in light blue rayon, size stamped in black ink "56" on the left side. The cap measures 120 mm x 275 mm, exhibiting very minor interruptions in the fabric on the exterior. Extremely fine.
