In Memory of My Service with Panzer Regiment 1 of Erfurt Etched Bayonet by Robert Klaas, Solingen-Ohligs: Measuring 403 mm in length with the scabbard on, this dagger features a 247 mm long nickel-plated steel blade, magnetic, with a dull edge, remaining bright and crisp, and having a semi-sharp tip. It is etched with a wide banner with an ornate border, inscribed "Zur Erinnerung an meine Dienstzeit beim Panzer Regt,1 Erfurt" (In Memory of my Service Period with Panzer Regiment 1 of Erfurt (Thuringia)) flanked by a helmet at the left and an Army eagle at the right, with full-length fullers on both sides. The reverse riccaso is maker marked "ROBERT KLAAS SOLINGEN" with the company's dual stork insignia. It retains its crossgraining, in addition to mild scratches overall, common to extraction and return to the scabbard, and a natural shine, near extremely fine. Black finished leather washer exhibits slight wear, remaining relatively supple and is intact. Crossguard with quillon and pommel exhibit light contact, while both plates of the black synthetic grip are held in firmly place by two rivets and central pins, a strip of red felt inserted into the slot in the back of the pommel, the dagger measuring 370 in length. Accompanied by its black metal scabbard, magnetic, with frog stud, metal locket at the blade entry end, ball finial, the scabbard measuring 278 mm in length, exhibiting contact marks and surface wear in various locations. The dagger in its 50 mm x 200 mm unmarked black leather holster, exhibiting crazing, the stitching having failed, necessitating the two sides of the holster to be repaired and glued together, the holster with a portapee strap wrapped around its neck, the portapee in gray and white embroidery, head, stem and knot wrapped around a white plastic frame, the portapee measuring 35 mm x 50 mm with a 36 mm long stem, the attached strap in gray embroidery. Near extremely fine.
