Blackened bronze, obverse with the right-facing bust of Benito Mussolini surrounded by the inscription "Ia LEGIONE D'ASSALTO M TAGLIAMENTO" and engraver marked "A. MARTINOLA", reverse inscribed "soli quei forti scesero onta ai fratelli in campo" inside an open-ended wreath composed of oak leaves at the left and laurel leaves at the right, with the 'M' and fasces insignia above, 37 mm, silvered and red painted bronze 'M' with fasces insignia clasp on its original ribbon, light contact, tiny chips evident in the red paint on the clasp, near extremely fine.
Footnote: The 1st Legion 'M' Assault "Tagliamento" was employed in northern and central Italy against the partisans.
