Footnote: Destroyer Z11 Bernd von Arnim was a Type 1934A-class destroyer built in the late 1930s, deployed to blockade the Polish coast. At the onset of the war she was transferred to thee German Bight to lay minefields in German waters. It made one successful minelaying sortie off the English coast, destroying one British warship and seven merchant ships. The ship also served during the early stages of the Norwegian Campaigns, where it battled the British destroyer Glowworm. Neither ship was damaged during the action. The Z11 also fought at the naval battles of Narvik, but was eventually forced to scuttle herself after she exhausted her ammunition stores.
