An early production and very fine quality Kriegsverdienstkreuz mit Schwerter (with Swords); in silvered tombac; maker marked “1” (Deschler & Sohn, München) on reverse; unworn and extremely mint condition without signs of wear or significant traces of patina; measuring 48.30 mm x 48.16 mm. In original case of issue; exterior in black leatherette with an outline of a War Merit Cross with Swords embossed into the top of the lid; minimal signs of use; exterior paper hinge ripped but interior fabric hinge perfectly preserved; measuring 68 mm x 68 mm; overall mint condition.
