This is pair of Wehrmacht Heer (Army) Mounted Troops breechers, constructed of feldgrau (field grey) wool with a reinforced replacement leather seat for horse riding. In place of a zipper, the breechers four plastic (one mismatched replaced/repaired button) and one metal cross-stitched buttons facing outwards. There is one large diagonal-slit pocket lined with champagne-coloured cotton on each side of the front of the trousers, secured with one plastic button each. There is also a small horizontal-slit pocket on the front right and a large horizontal-slit pocket on the rear right side of the pants, the latter secured with a plastic button and also lined with a champagne-coloured liner. The inside waistband, lined with champagne-coloured cotton, is stamped with the RB number, size, “E42” with an additional unlegible stamp near the opening. The breechers feature a total of seven metal and one plastic outward-facing buttons, as well as an adjustment tab with a dual-prong hook closure towards the rear. The reinforced leather seat is constructed of thick olive-coloured replacement leather, running along on the inside-facing side from the seat of the pants toward the leg opening. The breechers measure 86 cm along the waist, with a 65 cm inseam, and an overall length of 96 cm. Overall, this pair of Wehrmacht breechers is very well preserved with very minor signs of wear, however, it does appear field-repaired on multiple spots from active wear. Very fine condition. (C:45)
