A Royal Yugoslav Officer’s Belt with Buckle; circa 1920s

Buckle in nickel-plated bronze, with a silvered Yugoslav two-headed eagle on a bronze gilt Royal Yugoslav coat-of-arms affixed to the front, on the right end, maker marked in Serbian "КОВНИЦА АД БЕОГРАД" (Belgrade Mint) on the reverse, the buckle measuring 56.5 mm x 58 mm. Belt is fabricated with a fine silvered bullion wire with three repeating rows in red, white and blue embroidery running the full length of the belt, the reverse of the belt fabricated in violet wool, the right end with a violet wool tab and folded over, housing the magnetic buckle and sewn in place, the left end with a violet wool tab and folded over, housing the silvered metal receiving clip and secured in place by a black button on the reverse, the button marked "ОФИЦИРСКА ЗАДРУГА" (Officers Co-Operative), the belt measuring 50 mm x 1,105 mm. Belt with light soiling on the upper and exhibiting extensive wear patches and mothing in the violet wool on the reverse, the buckle with very limited contact and wear. Better than very fine.
