An Ocean Postage Badge Belonging to a Package Transported on U-20

This is a unique postage badge belonging to a package that was sent via U-20. It is constructed in stamped bronze, and is marked “Seepost”, “Kiel”, and “U-20”. It measures 60 mm x 40 mm, and is in better than very fine condition. Footnote: Toward the latter years of the warfield postage was transported partially using the Kriegsmarine, as Feldpost was deemed crucial to keep soldier’s morales high. Post was sent to the Kiel, where postage badges such as these were attached to boxes before it was sent in an effort to avoid confusion.
