A Gemeinde (Community) Schutzpolizei EM/NCO’s Overseas Cap

A very fine pre-war quality Gemeinde Schutzpolizei overseas cap; constructed of police-green trikot wool/rayon blend, with fold-down side and back panels with gently sloping, downward scallops towards the front. The crown of the cap features wine-red piping signature to Gemeinde (Community) Schutzpolizei. The sides also feature a field-grey enameled metal ventilation grommet, with a Polizei insignia on the center of the field cap. The insignia is crafted out of machine woven Polizei eagle with stretched-out-wings, clutching onto an oak wreath with swastika in the center, surrounded by an oak leaf wreath. The insignia is original to the cap and appears to be hand stitched to the cap. The interior of the cap is lined with a khaki rayon liner without any maker marks. The cap measures 270 mm x 115 mm (folded), with some considerable mothing damage towards the right-rear of the cap. The insignia in the center is perfectly intact. Overall better than fine condition.
