A German Duty Administration and Border Protection Badge; Numbered

A Third Reich period German Reichsfinanzverwaltung (National Financial Administration) Grenzschutz (Border Protection) badge, in gilt aluminum; unmarked but numbered “4754” on the obverse; measuring 83 mm x 67 mm; better extremely fine condition.

Footnote: The Reichsfinanzverwaltung (RFV) was an organization active during the Third Reich in charge of setting tax rates(“Steuerrarten”). During the war, the Zollenschutz protected the borders of occupied territories, such as France and Poland, and worked to reduce the amount of smuggling without paying proper dues on the items being transported from one country to another.
