This is a very fine Numbered 1213 “Ordens-Gemeinschaft der Ritterkreuzträger Mitgliedsausweis” issued to the highly decorated Leopold Burr, born on March 13, 1913, and residing on 253 Gröpel Heerstraße in Bremen at the time of issuance. The membership document features a picture of Burr attached to the document via two staples, along with three verification stamps, and is signed by the Vorsitzende (Chairman), the Landesgruppenleiter (Group Leader), and by himself. The reverse states the day of issuance as July 9, 1962. The document measures 105 mm x 75 mm. The membership stick pin is made of silvered bronze with black enamels, with a 44 mm long stick pin. The reverse is marked “Hoffstätter Bonn”, measuring 9 mm x 9 mm. The stick pin has cracked enamels and is slightly bent on the bottom. Overall, this is a fine grouping of the membership document and matching membership stick in very fine condition.

Footnote: Leopold (aka Leonhard) Burr (March 13, 1913 - March 2, 1968) was a highly decorated Oberfeldwebel in the 7./Stukageschwader 77 in the Luftwaffe, and saw action at the Invasion of Poland, the Battle of Belgium, the Battle of France, the Battle of Britain, the Balkans Campaign, Operation Barbarossa, the Siege of Sevastopol, and the Battle of Stalingrad. During his career in the Luftwaffe he earned the Aviator Badge, the Front Flying Clasp of the Luftwaffe, the Iron Cross Second and Third Classes, the Honour Goblet of the Luftwaffe (June 29, 1942), the German Cross in Gold (August 13, 1942), and the Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross on November 30, 1944.
