Recipient of the Knight's Cross with Golden Oak Leaves, Swords, and Diamonds ; A signed picture postcard by Hans-Ulrich Rudel (the sole recipient of the Iron Cross of the Knight’s Cross with Golden oak Leaves, Swords, and Diamonds), with an inspirational quote handwritten by him; translated “Lost are those who give up on themselves - dedicated to Mr. E. Jahnsen”; the reverse lists some of his accomplishments: 2400 flights, destruction of 519 tanks, 70 sunken landing ships, destruction of 800 vehicles, destruction of 150 artillery and anti-tank guns; sunk battleship Marat (23600 BRT), sunk 1 cruiser, sunk 1 destroyer, and destroyed several bunkers and bridges - if these are confirmed is unknown; measuring 148 mm x 105 mm; in better than extremely fine condition with some creasing towards the top of the photograph, but otherwise without major signs of age.

Footnote: Hans-Ulrich Rudel (July 2, 1916 - December 18, 1982) was a ground-attack pilot (rank of Colonel) in the Luftwaffe. He was awarded the Honor Goblet of the Luftwaffe (October 20, 1941, Wound Badge in Gold, Pilot/Observer badge in Gold with Diamonds, German Cross in Gold (December 2, 1941), Iron Cross 1939 (2nd Class on November 10, 1939) - (1st Class on July 18, 1941), Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross with Golden Oak Leaves, Swords, and Diamonds, 8th (1st and only foreign) Hungarian Gold Medal of Bravery (January 14, 1945), and the Italian Silver Medal of Military Valor.
