A Pair of Second War Italian Propaganda Postcards

First postcard illustrates an attack by Italian soldiers at the Battle of Amba Allagi in Ethiopia in May 1941, as part of the East Africa Campaign on the obverse, with the artist's signature "A. Pouri" at the lower left, with Prince Amedeo, Duke of Aosta featured at the right, reverse stamped in faded blue ink "123o AUTOGRUPPO PESANTE", "82a Autoreparto" and "VISTO PER CENSURA", handwritten inscription in black ink and dated April 18, 1942, marked "A cure dello Stato Maggiore R. Esercito . Ufficio Propaganda R. E." and tagged "L'EROICA DIFESA DELL'AMBA ALAGI" (The Heroic Defence of Alagi), marked "CARTOLINA POSTALE PER LE FORZE ARMATE" (Armed Forces Postcard) flanked by a shield bearing the Italian coat-of-arms on the left side and a shield inscribed "ESENTE DA TASSA PER L'ITALIA E SUE COLONIE" (Free of Charge Italy and Its Colonies) on the right side, printer marked "S.
