Four rows of fine silvered bullion wire, interlaced with red and black threading and wound around a white cord, wrapped in a u-shape, in a chevron formation, gilt bronze pips flanking an anchor bearing a gear (Engine Room), button hole for uniform attachment and housing a brass button bearing an anchor surmounted by the Imperial crown, the button marked "EXTRA FEIN" (Extra Fine) on the reverse and incorporating a screwpost base, black cloth-wrapped t-bar at the shoulder end, black velvet underside, 34 mm x 115 mm each, extremely fine.
